Life of Empress Theodora
Empress Theodora was the wife of Emperor Justinian and lived in the 6th century. She was at first an actress and an adherent of the Monophysite heresy. After she realized what she was doing wrong she converted to an Orthodox Christian and repented. After becoming an Empress, she led a virtuous life, maintaining purity of both body and soul. She provided a wise counsel for her husband during his reign and saved his throne during the Nika revolt in 532 AD through her political intelligence and expertise.
